I'm shopping around for mortgages. ING seems to offer the best rate for now. But I've heard ING has some hidden costs/conditions (eg need to take insurance) which in the end can make the mortgage more expensive.
In your experience, what are the hidden costs/conditions/inconveniences of ING mortgage? Are there any other banks/brokers with good rates and better conditions (fixed rate, 15 years)?
Merci

I am buying an apartment with furniture in Brussels, price is >300,000. The owner offered to receive 30,000 for furniture and the rest for the apartment (so he pays lesser tax, and lowers the price for me).
How risky is it to put 30,000 for furniture? Can authorities levy a fine? Or they will never find out (e.g. if it is not mentioned in compromis de vente)?
Merci en tous cas.
J'espère que des gens parlent anglais ici But feel free to respond in French!
Could you give any advice about buying a 2-bedroom apartment in a recent building in the Av. Marcel Thiry area in Brussels (Woluwe St. Lambert)? I found a nice apartment (~EUR3,250-3,300 per m2) but am not sure about this part of Brussels (in terms of public transport connections, traffic jams on the way to Bxl, etc). Also, there seem to be a lot of new construction going on – are the prices going to be stable there? In general is this area nice to live in?
Thanks a lot for any feedback!

I'm looking for a 2 room apartment in Brussels and would like to buy it in a modern building (e.g. constructed after ~1995). The budget is ~300,000 eur.
Could you suggest in which areas to look for modern buildings? So far I couldn't find many offers for modern accommodation.. I'm rather flexible on the area of Bxl but would prefer near the metro (e.g. Montgomery, Delta, etc.). What is the strategy to search for modern houses and in which areas of Bxl?
Merci d'avance!
